For all the times I have been here, the food is amazing, the servers are super friendly, the atmosphere is a classic diner feel. I bring my friends and family here often and always had a good time. Sometimes when they are short of cooks, you can see them work as fast as possible to make your order. However, they are always working fast and you can hear the great communication between the servers and cooks which in my opinion is key for good service and quality of the food. I really hope this place stays for a loooong time. WARNING: big portions, come hungry....with friends and family:)

Check out the grits! It was the "hole in the wall" that we were craving on our day of adventure. Bright, clean, and prompt friendly service

"Where should we go for breakfast?" "How about That One Place?" "Hell yeah!" I'm always on the lookout for a great breakfast place, and in Port Orchard area 'That One Place' is it. Excellent food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service... it's a winning combination. I've been in several times now and tried a few different meals here, but I keep coming back to their AMAZING Stuffed Omelette: chicken fried steak, peppers, onions, cheese, and hash browns all wrapped up in scrambled eggs and topped with delicious sausage gravy ($9.99). YUM! They even offer a pancake, French toast, or grits as side options in addition to the traditional toasted bread. Good coffee and plenty of refills, too. That One Place is all good :-)

This place is diner food to a T. Greasy, messy, and at times delicious. The atmosphere was family friendly, somewhat loud. Our server was nice, but not very prompt. But I have one real bone to pick... The Cuban sandwich was NOTHING like a cuban sandwich should be. One measly pickle, and instead of the delicious pulled pork slow cooked into juicy dream-like state, there were two dry fried pork-chops and some deli ham slapped on there. In addition, there was pale tasteless lettuce and tomato just wedged in for "good measure." It was not grilled, or on hot crusty cuban bread, but on a standard sesame seed bun. Between the extra bread of the bun and the breading on the pork chops...it was way too carb heavy, without that savory protein filled amazement one expects of a cuban sandwich. I left with the sensation of a rock in my stomach and a whole in my heart...

The service was great. It was our first time here so the menu was a tiny bit overwhelming. But she checked on us often to see if we were ready. She never once rushed us though. I was really looking forward to trying the giant pancake. But was a bit disappointed because it was slightly burnt tasting. I also got the chicken fried steak and eggs. Delicious! The restaurant atmosphere is very busy and loud though. I was here with two friends and we could hardly carry conversation because we found ourselves yelling.

Huge portions and really good food. The people are nice and the decor gives you a lot to look at. The stuffed omelet is to die for (chicken fried steak, onions, peppers, hash browns and gravy) my husband built his own burger and it was so big he had to use a fork! They give you a ton of fries too. Kids meals come with free ice cream which my girls definitely enjoyed! Will definitely be back.

Great burgers with mega portions. The food is outstanding. The staff was somewhat friendly when I ate here. Seemed like the waitress just brushed me off.

I'm only bumping up my review because the staff was super friendly. We went when it was busy, on a Saturday for lunch. The wait wasn't horrible...and the staff was again, really friendly and on top of everything. We ordered: two kids meals (grilled cheese and a corn dog, both with fruit on the side), me a chicken salad and hubby got the western burger. Firstly, the grilled cheese was burnt..and the corn dog bites looked like Vienna sausages with half cooked batter on them. My daughters food came out with fries, but the waitress did realize she messed up and brought out more fruit. I couldn't tell if the fruit was defrosted (the strawberries were for sure) but my kids still ate it. My chicken salad was a fail. The salad itself wasn't wilted--but you could tell it was bagged (I was hoping for green salad, not a ton of white iceberg) and the chicken was very dry. The dressing itself was inedible. It was suppose to be Italian..I could tell it was "home made" and it had bubbles in it??? I was really surprised I didn't get sick to be honest! Husbands burger was super greasy and fell apart in his hands...onion rings were ok. He wasn't impressed at all. He had the trots all night last night..so it's safe to say we won't be going back.

We went here for lunch and it was amazing. Great food and awesome portions. The waitress was cool, easy to talk to and friendly AND she had several tables and she was constantly checking up on us. She was really great at her job and made us feel invited to come back soon! My only complaint is that I wish the place was larger. We had to wait a while for a table, which is kind of unheard of for lunch. Good for them though.

This is our new favorite place, just got done eating here for my birthday dinner and everything was amazing! The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and on point! The food... Uhh huge portions. My turkey club was the size of three sandwiches, it was so big there was no room on the plate... It comes with a basket of fries. An entire basket!!! My fiancée had Robbie's special, and that's my new go-to when I have a breakfast hankering. Just try it and you'll know, I can't even begin to explain to you the deliciousness that is that special. It's my 21st and we came here for great diner food and lewdly large portions... Delivered on both fronts!!! Like I said, our new favorite place! It's a few minutes off of the highway, so conveniently. We will be coming back again, and again, and again. Good thing I don't wear jeans cause after the meal we just ate I'd have to unbutton them! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you to Thomas and Josh! Ps check the photos I posted for portion reference ;) and try the fried pickles + Mac and cheese bites!

WOW!!! The food was amazing the atmosphere great! I spent the better part of my adult life in Texas. And missed the ole home cooking from there. I ordered the chicken fried steak and grits. I don't think I have had better grits anywhere else! So, if your wanting a full belly with a little touch of southern hospitality.... Visit "That One Place!" You won't be disappointed.

We came here for breakfast one morning because Hi-lo was closed. I was between 3 and 4 stars and went with a 3 because I think this place is overrated. Pros: They have huge portions, even for their sides (see the pictures of the giant pancake). They also give you 2 sides, which is nice. I got the French Toast (which I would definitely recommend) and the home fries as my sides. I thought the food was delivered relatively quickly, especially considering that there was only one waitress busting her butt. Cons: I didn't find any of the food all that special. I ordered their Denver omelette, which is supposed to be the most popular omelette. It was only OK. I thought their home fries were way overcooked. The best thing I had was the French Toast. Their pancake was also pretty good and really fluffy. Neither of them, however, were all that special. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing?

Went here in 2014 as a family of four. We had heard good things, but I was completely unimpressed. The food was fried, greasy, salty, and forgettable. The atmosphere was loud and small town (I'm a-ok with small town, not so much the loud- sound really carries in the open seating). The service was great except the waitress made the mistake of asking our 7 year old if he wanted ice cream for dessert. Any parent knows how frustrating this is- especially since we had already told him no dessert. All in all, give it a shot at least once and judge for yourself. Personally, we won't be back, but we wish them well.

I've heard about this place so much and finally got the chance to go with my husband and parents. I ordered French toast with a side of biscuits and gravy. My dad ordered something involving this HUGE serving of a pancake. I can't remember what my mom ordered. My husband ordered the big nasty. French toast was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy were kind of bleh. They were super sausagey and I don't like white gravy like that. I prefer more of a pepper taste with only a hint of sausage. The biscuit was also bleh. I didn't get a bite of the big nasty but I got a bite of the onion rings and they were pretty good. I think this is a good spot to come that's close by and convenient. Will most likely come back.

We've been coming here since they opened and really love the food! The staff is so nice, friendly, and quick. The food, we've have mostly had their breakfast is by far the best! Large portions of food, different spins on classics, with the best taste! The only thing is the setup, it's come in and find a table (if one is available), I really hope they change this practice and arrange their seating a bit better...it makes it hard to come in, stand & wait for someone to get up and leave, makes it a bit awkward. Other than the seating, be prepared to have the yummiest food!

  • James S.

My wife an I have eaten here several times. The food is always great, hot fresh and always more then we can eat. the atmosphere is awsome. the fact that they have Christian music is even more awsome. A little bit of everything packed into a small diner. To Craig and company, great job.

Great food ,great people! A little touch of the South right in WA! I loved the steak and eggs and my husband enjoyed the stuffed omelette! Everything was great! There only weak side was their pancakes, which could possess a little more flavor, but other than that, great breakfast!

Yummy food, had sandwiches with fries and tried a milkshake. Large portions and delicious food. Service was quick and friendly.

The food and service were good but the prices were a little high compared to the rest of port orchard. It's a great place just not the best value in town. It's clean and has a good crowd that comes in.

  • Mor O.

We were excited to try this place based on the rave reviews. It was a disappointment. The ketchup and mustard bottles that are on the table need to be cleaned. So gross. I ordered the smothered steak and it was very very bland. It looked boiled instead of grilled or fried. It was very chewy. The pancakes were gummy and chewy. Not light and fluffy. The blue chees burger was also ordered and sadly the buddy looked boiled as well. The was bland. The onion rings were a small serving. The server also argued with the cook about running out of cheese curds. This place shouldn't be getting such a high stars because people like us who wanted to try a new place was very disappointed.

Best place to eat in town . You get more viraty to choose from. Big portions of food might have to save some for later. You hey more food for your money. .

  • Christopher M.

We went here for lunch. My wife and I each had a burger, which were quite large and tasty. They were served with a huge pile of fries. The fries were nothing special but not bad. One kid had chicken strips which looked pretty good, and the other had mini corn dogs. I can see why this place is so busy, especially at lunchtime. While we were there I saw several people being served breakfast - big portions and it looked delicious. We will be back.

  • debra o.

The best thing one can say is the portions are large. Mediocre food. Lots of calories and lots of salt. The atmosphere is noisy, as one would expect from a strip-mall joint.

    (2)
  • Brad E.

We came for breakfast and had standard fare of pancakes and omelets. As others have said this is a good value for kids. The omelet was good. I'd go back.

    (3)
  • Jenilynn B.

Kids meals are inexpensive (under $5) and include a drink and a scoop of ice cream! Good size portions for the kids (lots of fries). Pretty big portions for adults as well. Add a milkshake to your entree for $3 and only $0.50 extra to upgrade to onion rings. Service was a little slow, but that's cause they were busy, no one was just sitting around doing nothing. Atmosphere could use a little sprucing up though, needs music and an interior makeover walls and tables/placement. But overall it's a great place!

If That One Place gets any busier, they might have to open That Other Place. I really like this restaurant. It's got great fast food and huge portions. My wife and I split a burger when we go. That One Place is tight with the community and does outreach for people that are homeless.

Good food but SLOW service. Eleven people in the place, we ordered two sandwiches, it's been 35 minutes and NOTHING has come out of the kitchen.

Good food nothing amazing so far but I have been back twice so something must be done right. The fried pickles are good. The pancakes are huge! Waffles are yummy. Burgers are so so. The staff is very friendly. Always seems to be somewhat packed but only had to wait about 5 mins. Will be back.

  • Sarrah M.

Amazing place to take the kids. The kids menu is less than $5 each and comes with ice cream; real ice cream. The kind that has has little pieces of cheese cake in the ice cream. Our family loves fried pickles and are ecstatic when it's on the menu. The staff was friendly and our waitress backed is up when we made the kids put their phones away during our stay. Everyone left full and happy. Best kept secret in Port Orchard.

True American home style food. Good service, epic giant proportions, great taste. Don't eat here if you're on a diet or trying to be dainty. This place is stick to your ribs style and means business! Will be back!

  • Mandy C.

Husband and I ate there for dinner last night. Fried pickles were ok. He had the wings and he seemed to enjoy them.he ordered the special chicken and waffles decent for the price. I ordered the craig chicken sandwich I wasn't a fan of it so I only had half. Fries were pretty good though. Got my food to go so he could snack on it later which he did. I've been up since 5am with food poisoning and he has been up since 9am with food poisoning as well. Needless to say we will not be back again.

Meh. I'm not really into greasy spoon food anyway, but it didn't stand out as particularly spectacular in that category, either. The noise inside is ridiculously high, but you can eat outside, which is nice. But the waitress was SUPER friendly!

Never disappointed when dining here. We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner. .. all were amazing. Huge portions. . great prices... friendly staff and owner. I've referred them to Guy Fieri to make a visit. He would love this place!! You've GOT to check out out.

They're getting half a bonus point for grits; let's get that right out of the way up front. If it ain't grits, it ain't breakfast. Suffice to say, this far north of the Mason-Dixon Line, I'm facing "ain't breakfast" a lot. The room is a barn - no atmosphere, no vibe. A drop ceiling would totally change how the place feels. The service, however, is sitcom-grade warm and personal - preferences are remembered, requests graciously accomodated, food does not linger in the pass. It's also a great value - consistently better value for money than a certain House where you can eat Pancakes with the Family. I'm always a little shocked at how cheap the bill is for how satisfied I am. The breakfast and lunch menus are awesome - lots of diner standbys. Omelettes are particularly good. The dinner options are a little thinner - the meatloaf, however, is excellent and one could do a lot worse.

This place can make a great burger. The reason for only three stars is the set up of the restaurant. Its just kinda weird.

If you are driving around reliving your past and you happen to have a past that includes Port Orchard...you are in luck. The luck extends beyond having the joy of having a history with Port Orchard, but you have a great place to get breakfast or lunch. I had the "Big Nasty" Burger, my wife had the bacon wrapped sausage. Both were real good, but I think this may be my last foray into the "larger than life" meals offered at local establishments. It was way too much food for a middle aged guy. So if you come in starving. Order it. It will make you happy. Parking was easy, the smallish place was full of people enjoying their mid week meal. Had a TON of different ice cream flavors that I was dying to try...or would kill my diet. My daughter liked what she had though, some sort of berry. We would happily go here if they weren't hundreds of miles away.

Soo rib sticking good. True comfort food at its best. Not pretentious...just a good meal! Everything is well worth the very reasonable cost. You will NEVER go home hungry with the full plates of food served here! If you haven't tried this place...TRY IT! If you have...head back. Warm your soul!

This is one of my favorite Port Orchard restaurants. They have fabulous burgers, huge portions, great breakfast, and super friendly service. Let's face it... great service makes even good food taste better. But here you get great service and great food. Plus, I can never finish all my food, because you get your money's worth here. They used to be in less than half the space they have now, so the fact that they've acquired additional square footage and they keep it full is an indicator of how good they are.

I have to say I was not too thrilled about going to That One Place the first time we went. And I actually didn't enjoy my first visit. This was, gosh, two years ago now? Not exactly sure. One our first visit I had some kind of salad that had eggs and chicken in the description. I don't like hard boiled eggs much so I opted out of that. But my salad came with out the chicken too. Bummer...but more of a bummer was when the server brought the chicken to me it was gross. I resisted going back for a few months. However, my husband, LOVED his burger from that first visit. So I relented. I AM SO GLAD I DID!! For me, obviously, that first impression sucked. But my second, third, fourth, fifth I've lost count how many times we've been there -- at least 10 times and not ONLY has my opinion changed completely from my first visit but I highly recommend That One Place without hesitation. Clearly, my first visit was a total fluke. There's a waitress there, I'm not sure of her name (**edited to add that we were there last night and that servers name is Joe! Amazing service again**), but she's got short and curly hair. Well she's about the best server I've ever had the pleasure of ordering from. She's awesome! Friendly, funny, but in a VERY genuine way. She's like the cool Aunt I never had or something. She's very attentive, accommodating and even to the degree that she'll invent something for you if they don't have it. For example: I wanted orange soda, which they don't have, so she offered Sierra Mist with orange syrup. It was perfect. This server is about 40% of the reason I like this place so much. The other 60% is the great food. My husband nearly always orders the "Big Nasty" with hotlinks. He loves it. I have to recommend the cheese steak roll. Love it. I've had several other things too, like their Cuban sand which, -- very good, except too salty for me. All portions are generous. I have to make mention of --- well, of all things --- the ice they serve in their cold drinks. It's "pelleted", little slushy ice balls. Call me crazy, laugh at me, but I REALLY love this ice. My kids both love to eat it, I do too. I know that's very silly I would mention the ice, but I had to. :P We will continue to go to That One Place as long as we live here. They're a gem!!

I've had a great experience every time I've gone here. Great food, always a lot of fries, and friendly staff. Food is delivered quickly and it tastes good. If I had to complain about anything, I'd say maybe the ranch isn't that awesome compared to some places, but overall I'm a fan of the business

The first time we came here, there was some kind of fundraiser/charity event/thing happening outside and an overflow of the people attending ended up in the tiny restaurant. It was kind of a cluster in there and no one working there seemed to be available to take our order, so we left. I've continued to see good reviews go up for the restaurant, so we finally decided to give it a try the other night. I was surprised to see the seating area was as big as it was - I distinctly remember it being half the size - and that they were about half full, business wise. We didn't know if we had to wait to be seated or could sit wherever. One of the two waitresses acknowledged us from near the kitchen and told us to sit down wherever we wanted. We did so, and proceeded to sit for about 10 minutes without either of them acknowledging us. I tried to get one of them to make eye contact with us, to no avail, and my other half decided he didn't want to wait any longer. I went up to the front and asked for menus. The waitress seemed totally taken back that I'd ask for them (not realizing there were customers who hadn't been helped yet). She was super apologetic and made sure we were taken care of the rest of the meal. When we told her it was okay (she truly was sorry), she insisted it wasn't okay and offered to buy us dessert. We both ended up getting burgers. They were fantastic. The french fries were awesome, too. We got the hotzerella sticks and let me tell you - they have a wonderful kick to them. I like spicy things and these definitely made me reach for some of the ranch (and I hate ranch!) just to cool it down. Dessert was the fried Oreo sundae, which, again, pretty damn tasty. Our favorite restaurant serves up cookie fritters (including Oreos) and the sundae gave them a run for their money. So despite the rocky start to our experience, it ended nicely. Our waitress was very friendly and outgoing, talkative, apologetic and sincere, and seemed like a genuinely nice woman who enjoys her job. It seemed like a lot of people are regulars, as both waitresses were using people's names when they were coming in the door. They remained steadily busy for the time we were there and for $30, we were pretty happy with what we got (even if you don't include the dessert, the money for two burgers + fries and drinks is well worth it). Will definitely come back and attempt the Big Nasty and Fried Mush at some point.

Good food at a good price and VERY generous portions. Come hungry! The service can be a bit slow when they are busy (which is why I gave 4 stars) but the food makes up for it. The breakfasts are really yummy...the pancake is the size of a dinner plate. And our 18 year old athlete managed to eat 'The Big Nasty' burger/meal in one sitting, but needless to say I wasn't going to try-- too much for my appetite. The kids meals are good, the ice cream and shakes are as well. Highly recommend!

This place is wonderful. I've eaten here multiple times. The food is creative and delicious. Always hot correct and quick. They load up the plate. The staff are always polite and professional. Everything is clean. The dining room has interesting eclectic decor and is very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The farmhouse Benedict and the Robby special are my favorite breakfast dishes. This review comes from a professional cook with high standards and I only have positive things to say. Keep it up guys!

Disappointing...to say the least. We've lived in PO for a couple months now and still haven't found much around here for decent places to eat. We decided to hit up That One Place tonight before church on the recommendations of several people and the solid reviews on Yelp. In hindsight, I'd have done better with a gas station microwaveable cheeseburger. :-/ For starters, we ordered the cheese curds. We moved here from Wisconsin, so we really didn't expect anything to meet the standards that we've come to expect in the way of fried cheese. What I didn't expect was to receive a bowl that was half full of lettuce, then the rest piled high with nearly blackened cheese on the outsides of the "coating" of the cheese curds. Several things wrong with this picture...1 - why try to fool the customers into thinking that we're being served a full bowl of curds...when in reality, it was about 1/3 cheese curds, 2/3 inedible lettuce? 2 - When frying cheese in a deep fryer, there's a point when it begins to ooze out of the breaded coating and you're left with an empty breading shell and burnt cheese on the outside. That's what this lettuce bowl contained...a bunch of stuck together burnt empty breading shells. Gross. That was just the appetizer. Should have known. Next came my bacon cheeseburger. Or did I order the burnt bacon cheesesawdustburger? Cuz that's what it tasted and felt like in my mouth. Ever drop of moisture had been cooked, seared and burned out of what I assumed was once a frozen pre packaged meat patty. Yuck...just yuck. Waitress asked if I wanted to box up the 3/4 of the burger I had left untouched on my plate...when I said no, she asked how it could have been better. I said...oh, I dunno...perhaps 40 mins less on the griddle? She said...well, you should have ordered it raw if you wanted it like that.... The wife ordered a BLT that had the same burnt bacon in it, wilted, shredded lettuce, served on 4 day old, thick sliced bread. Not an ounce of Mayo on the BLT...which I thought was standard...but hey, what do I know? (You know nothing, Jon Snow.) Same result...3/4 of the sandwich left untouched. She also had the chicken vegetable soup...which she would have bet $ that is was straight from a tin can... Son had the corn dogs...also, ridiculously overcooked....(I'm noticing a pattern here...is this how it's done here? Cook it until you can't tell what it once was.....). Daughter had grilled cheese...which was easily the best thing on the table all night....but you know SOMETHING had to be wrong....look at the "fruit cup" she had as a side, and look no further. 6 wrinkly blueberries that look to be 6 days past their "serve by" date...and some sort of orange melon that was equally as old if not older. Pros: French fries were actually tasty...but maybe because they had 3 cups of salt on them. Daughter's grilled cheese was decent. Cons: stepping foot in this place to begin with. Jeez...Port Orchard...if this is your idea of quality food...you need to re-evaluate....cuz this was terrible. Oh yeah...we got to enjoy this fine meal for the bargain basement price of....drumroll please..... $40!! For that price, next time, we're going to 7-11 and getting some microwave cheeseburgers, Funyuns and slurpees...pocket the rest of the $30 that's left over...and enjoy a meal that's twice as good as what we had at That One Place tonight.

Waking up with the hunger of a bear after hibernation I quickly grabbed my phone for a good recommendation in yelp! Wouldn't you know it, it lead me to That One Place and thank god it did! My uncle who is a local to the area told me to definitely hit up this place and so he went along with us. All I can say is Pancakes!! Damn they were good eats and huge!! Large portion of meat, eggs, various proteins and carbs designed to satiate even the hungriest being. I opted for the chicken fried steak, country potatoes, eggs, and a side of whole wheat toast, my girlfriend had the corned beef hash and country potatoes. Every single bite of food was heavenly as I shovel food through my agape mouth as the food was super tasty, I even found myself stealing some of my girlfriends corned beef hash. I give this place 5 stars definitely the food here stays with you in arteries, belly, and memories!

Pretty good food. I love that they have a pretty decent breakfast menu that is served all day. It pretty typical diner food. I had hash browns, bacon, scrambled eggs, and a pancake. It was all good, and way better than a Denny's or Shari's. But is wasn't "amazing". I think they have outgrown themselves because we went in and there was a wait and there was nowhere really to go other than right in front of the door. There were a lot if people waiting and then this rude couple with a child just walked in and say at an empty table not even realizing there were people waiting and then the waitress just took their order. So, their staff needs to get it together.

Great for a "sit down, let's talk about life" type meal. The service is pretty slow, almost a 'serve yourself' feel, but very friendly. It is just a super casual place! Food was great, with great prices to go along with it. The atmosphere is old time diner, like a highway 66 theme(but with a little less effort) It seemed like the local hot spot, busy the whole time my mom and I were there for our usual lunch date.

I had won a gift certificate from a Facebook page. I used it the other night and posted a review on said Facebook page. I did not see it as rude or ungrateful. The staff here is very nice. It just took our whole meal to get a drink refill (there were maybe 4 other tables and 2 or 3 wait staff) The food is good but the owners response to my review on Facebook is what will keep me, my family and quite a few of my friends from ever coming back. He was extremely rude and basically attacked me on the post. Had he not posted what he had and took my comment as a way to improve his restaurant I probably would have given it a second chance. Instead I'll stay in Bremerton and got to Big Apple diner where the servers are a little more attentive and the food is just as good.

Food is ok, just expect to wait awhile for your food if you come here on a weekend morning (packed).

This is the best restaurant Port Orchard has! Their food is awesome!!! The service is always very friendly! We never leave disappointed

You definitely get your money's worth here! Big portions for a reasonable price. But it does get a bit busy on the weekend so come early.

They almost put my spouse in the hospital. I told them she is allergic to carrots yet they did not bother to let us know there were carrots in the clam chowder. Who puts carrots in that anyways.

I finally made it in to the place that I've heard raves about for over a year! I'm so glad I did. I split Missy's Cobb Salad with a friend. Good grief, 1/2 would be the full size at most restaurants. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The price was amazing and the service was friendly without being overbearing! Loved it! I will definitely be back and hopefully on a Friday again so I can order something from the fish menu when I'm not feeling so healthy!

This is my favorite burger joint. They have great tasting burgers, and large portions. The atmosphere is like a 1950's dinner. You have got to check this place out.

My hubby and I and two kids(1,4) went here tonight. Friendly service attentive waitress (lots of refills) we had a burger ( good not great) chicken sandwich (very good) and a big plate of pancakes for the kiddos!

When this place opened up it was 5 stars all the way. Then about a year or so later when my wife's family was visiting we took them to eat dinner there and...it was embarrassing. The owner/chef wasn't there and the quality of the food showed it. The waitress recommended the meat loaf so we ordered it with a side of toast. While it was being cooked we smelled bread burning and sure enough, we were served burnt toast with our meal. I think all of us were too embarrassed to say anything so we didn't send it back. No way a cook who cares about his food sends out burnt toast. As for the meatloaf? Mediocre. My wife makes a variety of meatloaves from scratch. Because of this less-than-enjoyable meal, we stayed away from TOP for months. Recently, we had breakfast there and while it was tasty, there are better breakfast places in town. Oh, I had two slices of bacon with my breakfast and...one of them was partially burnt. Since I had ordered a breakfast with multiple dishes, how could I send back a couple of pieces of bacon? We paid our bill and resolved never to eat there again.

My go to is the Cuban. Love, love that thing. Love the fries. Love the ice in the soda. Kiddos love the ice cream with the kids meal. They have expanded but still need more seating.

We have been here several times. We have had breakfast and lunch here. The food is just good old fashioned comfort food. Large portions and everything we have had is delicious. The service has always been excellent and the wait staff seem to take time out if their day even when really busy to entertain and converse with our 7 yr old. Best milkshakes around! I highly recommend eating here!

Went there for breakfast with 4 hungover friends. The food was AMAZING. The prices are what you'd expect for diner breakfast, and totally, totally worth it. I loved that "veggie grill" (sautee'd spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions) was offered as a breakfast side with my chicken fried steak. Had a bite of my friend's french toast - AMAZING. No complaints about the cornbeef hash, either, and the pancake was HUGE. There was one waitress serving the entire restaurant when we went, and she was attentive, friendly, courteous, and made us feel totally at home. I suggest this place to anyone who loves delicious breakfast food!

  • Walter H.

I have ate here on many occasions and had many of their menu items, Breakfasts are great, burgers are great, the ruben is the best in the area. Love the deep fried pickles with the habanero hot sauce. The portion size is big, you don't go away hungry. Great milkshakes. The staff are friendly and attentive. The price is comparable to restaurants of the same type. The ambiance is 50's diner style Some say there is not enough parking, There is plenty of parking, the majority of the area is parking spaces, I guess they want to be at the door or to lazy to walk 200 feet for a good meal.

  • Katy T.

We love this place! Always our go to restaurant when we're in the mood for homestyle food. Love their milkshakes and the spicy mozzarella sticks. My fiance loved loved loved their corned beef hash! I'm glad they expanded, their only downfall was the size!

Found this little place in Port Orchard and since we're on a dive search we just had to stop! It's not really a dive though, just a quaint little diner in which the owner likes cars! And motorcycles I suppose since there were some of those too! The good was really good: lots of crispy hashbrowns loaded on the plate that were moist on the inside, not dry; a thick crispy chicken fried steak not over cooked; tasty gravy and eggs cooked perfectly! The reason they get a 4 and not a 3 is that you get to choose from toast, biscuit, PANCAKE or FRENCH TOAST! I LOVE choices! I saw the service complaints so went in knowing it may not be what we like but our waitress was kind, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

  • Kelli P.

My family has been here 3 times and every time we come we are treated politely and with a smile even if they're super busy. My husband and I tried the sampler platter the last time and it was really good. I loved the fried pickles and he loved the spicy mozzarella sticks. Haven't been for breakfast but would love to try!

  • Ethan B.

My wife and I went out last night and had a good time. So today we decided to find some good old fashioned American food. That One Place nailed it! They have some of the craziest food items like waffle sandwiches and deep fried Oreos. Great atmosphere, very drive in dinner feel and awesome staff. Our sever basically made us feel like we could get what ever we wanted and she would find a way. Example, no Orange drink for my son, no issue she took some Sierra Mist added an orange flavor they had and wham, best orange drink I ever had. The hot dogs are massive and taste great, just like NY or Chicago dogs, amazing. And enough Ice Cream flavors to challenge Baskin Robbins. Over all great food, people, atmosphere and priced just right. 2 adults and 2 kids including dessert for under $40 and took home left overs. Cant wait to go back again!

I ate here once when it was raining.... I was really depressed and I had a hamburger... I dont really remember how it tasted because I was really depressed. Anyways go here if you want, but if your sad you might not remember the food very well.

Super friendly people and great locally owned business that ranges from breakfast to burgers to cuban sandwiches. Every single dish I or a friend has ordered has been amazing and healthy portions. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place rocks, I am hypoglycemic so needed some carbs..they special made me a philly cheese steak on a sourdough that is usually not the norm for the menu and let me substitute a salad in place of the fries .this gave me carbs without the calories..frienldy atmosphere and even though they seemed really busy they had my food out to me pronto !

    (5)
  • Willow K.

The biscuits and gravy couldn't get any yummier! The bacon is premium cut and cooked to perfection. And the wait staff are a delight! I love this place!

  • Melissa M.

Went here today for breakfast for the first time. The food was good, wasn't amazing or anything mind blowing but definitely better than Denny's. This place would have got another star if the service was any good. There was 2 waitresses for what appeared to be all the tables, so I'm guessing they were overwhelmed? My husband thinks they're just used to dealing with the "regulars" so they don't really focus on new faces or bother making sure their experience is going well. I also thought it was ridiculous that a refill for a 3 ounce chocolate milk was .99 rather than at least 1 complimentary refill for the children. I will give this place one more try, but if my service experience isn't any better, we won't be back. I'm totally content with other local breakfast joints like Everybody's, Hi-Joy bowl or even Uncle Dave's.

Love this place!!!!!!! Great food, great service! Some of the best french fries in town. Really happy to see that they are bigger now. Many people obviously share my opinion of That One Place because they are always busy.

???? I am so confused as to the ravings about this place! I went here for lunch, and was NOT impressed. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a side salad. My whole party (five people) ordered side salads, and the waitress responds, "Well, the salads will take a while since we'll have to make them." Uhhh, no kidding? My sandwich was hardly edible. I only ate about half so that I wouldn't be hungry later. Too much mayonnaise, and some sad Craisins. Really? How does one screw up chicken salad???? My boyfriend ordered a bleu cheese burger, and he said it was mediocre. He regretted ordering it, and I regretted my sandwich. The "diner" vibe was lame and sad. I would be willing to look past the pathetic ambiance if the food had been good! Overall, a sad experience. I give it TWO STARS, and not ONE because I hear this place has great breakfast. Meh. Meh. MEH.

Great food, great atmosphere! You walk in here and the smells are overwhelming! The start here is the full menu of exciting and imaginative food. Daily specials that are always a little extra special. Bottom line this is excellent food, friendly staff, good coffee, and a must if you have tried the rest and want the best!

Good food, good service, but didn't like the seating. Looks like they have recently done some upgrades to the place. We were sat next to the door and everytime it was opened, we were freezing

  • David C.

It's a shame these guys are tucked away off the street and out of plain sight, because I think that they're pretty great and their burgers definitely blow Moon Dogs right out of the water. The only real complaint I have is the lack of beer [who doesn't love an IPA with their cheeseburger?]. Other than that, every burger I've had [Big Nasty included] has been terrific, the prices are very fair considering the size of the burgers and sides, the service has always been great, and the onion rings are fantastic. Don't let the name or location fool you, this place is well worth stopping by.

  • Paul S.

I had heard people talking about this place on 3 different occasions and decided to take the woman there. It was very busy and we had to wait by the door for a few minutes for a table to be clear off for us. We decided to wait it out though. The place was packed, so the food must be good right? I had the 'Western', man...I don't know if I was just hungry as hell or what, but that was one of the best burgers I've had in my life. My better-half had 'The Hawaiian, and in her words it was "very, very good". The fries were pretty good. I've only eaten here once, but I'll be going again for sure.

That one place appears to be a restraunt that is very family oriented. Every time I have been there my food is always delicious and comes with a huge amount of fries. Milkshakes are amazing.

This is place used to be called something I never remember but I called it "that one place". So when I found out that they changed the name to that I lol'd all over myself and drove right over there. I tried something that IMMEDIATELY caught my eye: The BIG NASTY burger. It's this behemoth of a burger with 3/4lbs of beef, 1/4lbs of hotdog (yes, two whole hotdogs sliced in half), beef chili and beans, THICK slices of crunchy bacon, lots of jalapenos, and...oh some lettuce and tomatoes - blah blah blah. Then some decent fries on the side for good measure. I guess they call it big nasty because that's how you feel after you eat this. So, to the surprise of our waiter (or NOT to the surprise of some people who know me), I finished the entire meal. I rolled out the door with a smile on my face. This is NOT fine dining with fancy wine selections or soft music playing in the background (there's a time and place for that). I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who enjoys some good comfort food in a nice moms and pops type feel environment.

Best breakfast in Port Orchard. Prices: 4 Food: 5 Service: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Coffee: 3 Prices a little higher than other spots but the quality is there. Great Diner food and clean. Coffee is ok.... But everything else is great. Pancakes are great.

  • Carly M.

My husband and I were told this place was great and to be honest it did not live up to the expectations. The burgers were mediocre and greasy. I could only eat about half before the grease was just too much for me. The burger was really good and the bacon was amazing though. The fries were nothing special. The highlight were the shakes we got, those were really good! Neither my husband nor myself finished our meals but try it for yourself since many others seem to love this place!

I visited this place at the behest of my brother, knowing all too well what I was getting myself into! The place is small, cute, fairly clean and has interesting decor. It has a real nice "locally owned" feeling about it. The service was super friendly, very approachable and really helpful when it came to items on the menu. Anyway, I came here for one thing and one thing only: The Big Nasty! What is this monster? It's a burger... with a 3/4 lb burger patty, 1/4 lb of hot dog, sliced jalapenos, crispy bacon slices, mouth-watering beef chili with beans and a side of fries. Oh, there are also sprinklings of shredded lettuce and tomatoes so you can feel good about eating some type of vegetable I suppose :) All this goodness was sandwiched between two slightly toasted buns, which to my surprise held on quite nicely despite all the toppings! I am not a fan of steak fries so I opted for their regular fries. When this mammoth of a burger came out, I was floored! Would I be able to conquer this beast?? The burger was super juicy and flavorful. Definitely one you'd have to eat with a fork and knife, unless you felt the need to wear your meal then by all means, pick up it. The individual pieces of the burger were delicious by themselves, and when eaten together, brought the burger to an epically awesome level of flavor and greasiness. My jaw was tired from all the chewing! My arteries seriously ache just thinking about the experience while writing this review. Surprisingly enough, I slayed that beast with my trusty fork, knife and appetite. I got through most of their regular fries (which were also very good by the way) before throwing in the grease-soaked napkin. I wish we had one of these around Poulsbo so I wouldn't have to drive so far, but it was well worth it! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a welcoming environment and delicious comfort food :) You will not be disappointed!

Food tastes great. Service is very good. Portions are actually a bit too large for me, so be prepared to take some home. No sound insulation, so a bit noisy when crowded.

The low review is due, largely,to our being made to feel unwelcomed by,Merrily, ironicly named waitress. We found her personality disorder harsh, abrupt, brusque ! We watched her smile and engage other tables, but us? Crickets ! The food was good, but, service is what it's all about ! When new people walk into your business, treat them as honored guests, not intruders, nor people who require being corrected while ordering! The other waitress, while initially nice, made an insulting comment to me,fm behind the counter,as i gestured for a coffee refill! We'll stick to Uncle Dave's low key, friendly, welcoming service... Again,if we had ordered 'to go' we might of enjoyed the experience! Hey owners, monitor your staff some!

I was in for breakfast, my 1st time. I met a friend there, his 1st time! The food was very good. Our waitress was so friendly. Knowledgeable too. Excellent service. We were told that if we wanted more toast, just ask. :) Very homey! I will go again.

My husband and I had lunch here and overall our experience was just okay. My breakfast was pretty standard diner-fare, my husband's tuna melt had funky shredded lettuce on it. We aren't from the area and likely won't be back, but if we lived nearby we'd likely give them one more try.

Will have to return here a few more times to ' TASTE TEST ' the menu over time but what I tried was fair portion(s) and good tastie food. Another small family run restaurant which is always good to see. Good food, not always flashy ' Come eat here ' or an ambiance outside of reality. I like the concrete flooring. At least it is clean compared to many upscale places that put in carpet but never clean it. This place is functional - yea ! . . . BONUS : Good Food ( which is what a restaurant should deliver first over anything else ) The menu seems to be breakfast and sammies ( burgers, sandwiches ). There is a special of the day. Looks like a nice little hook for the regulars to keep it coming back in. Will test that out over time also. Portions seemed to be good for the price. Kudos to the crew on this one

My fiancé and I dined today and it was amazing. Our meal included iced tea and Mountain Dew that never went empty, we started out with the fried pickles and fried Mac and cheese bites. Both were amazing. Then we proceeded to have; that one place breakfast and the bacon wrapped hot links. These plates had so much food that we took home a whole meal by itself. The homemade gravy was beyond amazing, as in give me a bowl of it with a spoon and i'll eat it. The service was great the waitress was very nice and helpful in helping us to decide and the prices were fair.

So Over the Summer when Tom & I Went to Long Beach, WA, we Took the Scenic Route From Bothell... I'm Real Sorry We forgot to Review this Place... Its AWESOME. The Food was GREAT & So is the Service. On our Next Road trip in that direction this will be a MUST VISIT.

  • Sue D.

The burgers and breakfast are good and the service pretty fast, most of the time. I like that the kids menu items come with ice cream at the end of the meal - always keeps them happy. I don't recommend the salads, but they do the basic greasy spoon foods really well. I do wish they wouldn't let people bring their dogs into the restaurant.

  • Bert C.

The owners are working themselves to death and that is the only reason I've given it four stars. When owners get worn out sometimes corners can get cut and tempers show. The only times I've Had anything other than great American diner grub here I could tell the owners were on their last legs. They have admirable and delicious burgers. The only way they could be better is if they had been charcoal grilled. The thing they do with bacon wrapped hot links is deadly delicious for breakfast. Port Orchard has a few chain cafe offerings and all the fast food options but That One Place is my kind of place. Every small cafe has at least one dish that should be avoided, and their clam chowder is that dish.

One of the nicest family restaurants in the area. It's not fancy, but it's clean; the waitstaff and kitchen are friendly; the portions are h-u-g-e and the price is right. Breakfast served all day. Pancakes are (no kidding) a foot in diameter. Omlettes are loaded with goodies. Sandwiches are big and flavorful. Hand-dipped ice cream shakes. About the only negative - and it's minor - is the location; hard to see from the street. Right across the street to the west of the Safeway and south of the Acapulco. Enjoy - we have twice and will be back!

A friend and I came here for dinner the other night. It was pretty good and I look forward to trying again and expanding on my review. She had a burger and I tried the patty melt. It was good. The onion rings on the side were a bit underdone, but probably because the batter was so thick. The service was good and attentive.

I love this place. My boyfriend and I go here a lot and always have a great time. We usually have the same waitress who I believe is a manager, and she is the best! Always on top of things and eager to help. I don't know why people would ever have a problem here because they have amazing food and service. Everyone should come here.

One of the best places in Port Orchard. Friendly staff, great portions, and just plain old fashioned American cuisine. Leave the diet at the door and enjoy the kind of food your Grandmother would have made.

Keep going back, trying different meals. Cajun shrimp po' boy, pot roast, club sandwich, patty melt, BLT, skinny and crispy fries, golden onion rings. Always busy, good business to patronize.

Great place for the price! The food is delicious and every time we go we're that much more impressed. Their burgers are big, fries are AMAZING and had their chicken salad sandwich tonight and was extremely satisfied. Overall this is definitely one of the best places in town. Only reason I don't give them a 5 is because of the decor. It's a bit tacky and overall just not put together very well. The car theme is a great idea but would have preferred more of an old school diner/car theme. Also REALLY wish they were open on Sundays!!

Great little town diner feel! The place was packed with happy folks enjoying large portion breakfasts. We stopped in for a very early lunch. Service was fast and friendly. Food was some of the best for diner food. It came out quick and hot. No complaints. We will be back.

Service was a bit poor, our waitress kept conversation with the other customers and paid little attention to my group. She did give us our drinks pretty quick. The Jalapeno poppers were frozen at the bottom tip- look, normally I don't complain about burger joints using frozen food but the least they could do was cook it all the way. Burgers were so-so, nothing that memorable but still made me full.

How have I missed writing a review for my favorite place to eat in Port Orchard? We truly lack reasonably priced restaraunts here in Kitsap County. This place has it all....great food, great prices, GREAT STAFF! We've been here at least a dozen times in the last six months or so. The first time we went, I wasn't impressed with the breakfast...food was a little blah, but the service was so oustanding I had to give them another try. Second times a charm for this one. We not only had great service again, but the food was "the bomb". My husband's favorite is the Cuban...Its this wonderful fried pork patty with swiss cheese and ham on it...Not your traditional cuban sandwich, but sooo very good! My personal favorite (until the last time we went) was the club. Its less than 8 bucks and you get this monstrous sandwich with the biggest side of fries I've ever seen....You can not beat that! Now back to my NEW favorite...The Craig's favorite...Try it, you'll love it. I love that they use thick cut bread and its always fresh... The reason they get 5 stars for me is absolutely the service. They have a new waitress, that I haven't seen before. She gave us such amazing service that I did the unthinkable..I gave the woman a $10 tip. She was THAT good...Keep up the great work you guys...and if you haven't tried this place...DO IT! You will not be disappointed.

This place has the best food ever! Everything is super fresh and yummy from breakfast food to the burgers. The cost isnt bad either, if there was one thing I would change it would be that I wish they had someone to bus the tables, the staff seems overwhelmed and behind when its busy but its a work in progress.

Move over, Pancake House -- That One Place has the best breakfast in Port Orchard, bar none. Their chicken fried steak is amazing! I also like their corned beef hash with grits -- this is no hash from a can. The staff is friendly and personable, and even when they're really busy, my coffee cup is never empty. I highly recommend it.

Of all things to review, I choose the hot dog. I am unsure why but there hotdogs are something special. I normally eat a hot dog once or twice a year but will make an exception for these. Cannot wait to try breakfast.
